A good exception is BRAZIL. Several notable names include: Rik Van Reil (memory management), Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo (Kernel Janitors Project; IPX, 802.2, and NetBEUI stacks) Marcelo Tossati....etc. Lua programming language, Brazil also has lots of debian developers... and their recent election used GNU/Linux voting machines. Most government computers are running debian OS. Regarding Brazil and Linux: here's an article *why brazil loves linux* http://duartes.org/gustavo/blog/post/why-brazil-loves-linux i think we share common history with brazil so i do hope that we can get some lessons from them. -ppp _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List http://lists.linux.org.ph/mailman/listinfo/plug Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
