Good for them! We had a discussion of this same issue on the LyX users list a few weeks ago. The newcomers/Windows users wanted a GUI forum, the rest of us preferred the mail lists. I think someone pointed out that gmane (or something like that) allows subscribers to read and write from a web interface. As far as I'm concerned, the major difference between a mail list and a web-based forum is convenience. Mail lists push information to me so it shows up in my INBOX or the appropriate mail folder. No work on my part. Fora require me to go to a web page and pull the information down if I want it. More time consuming and less convenient. Rich -- Richard B.
