A group I am a member of recently changed from email to forum. The advantage
of
the forum as I see it is that there can be different groups within the forum,
so
that I can review the threads I am interested in, and skip the esoteric ones I
am not. This, however, requires all posters to perceive the various categories
similarly: does asking about a tire go in General or Technical?

The forum allows notification by email of any new posting in my selected
categories. This helps.

As for as time is concerned, I am retired, so I move slowly anyway.
