I didn't buy a widescreen monitor for watching movies, either. I
wanted to be able to put two 80 column text windows side by side and
not have one covered by the other. I bought a Samsung 2343BWX. It is
a 23" diagonal screen with a resolution of 2048x1152. According to the
Display Resolution menu command in Fedora 10, that's exactly what it's
doing, too. And I can have my side-by-side windows. (It's a really
pretty display, to boot.)

But you've got all that bezel and frame stuff between them! That's not
seamless to my eyes! :-) :-)
