Just to be perfectly clear - they are saying that using a particular
piece of software can void a hardware warranty? Or is there something
else I'm not understanding?

I'd like to see them explain how they designed their hardware poorly
enough that software could harm it. Or is my knowledge of stuff that
far off? That's not really a significant possibility, is it?
