I've been using it for a couple years, and generally speaking it works quite well. I have a Win 2K guest and several Ubuntu guests, and they all run happily. The only issue I've had was related to VBox upgrades (had difficulty reading drive images created by an older VBox version). The VBox GUI is pretty easy to use, and there's also a command-line interface. Documentation is good, too. Make sure your host system has plenty of RAM. You'll need the VBox kernel module on your host system. Debian provides the source in its own package, which can then be compiled and installed via module-assistant. Also, the more RAM you have, the more guests you can run simultaneously. > Is there a way to import an already-working hard drive image, or do > I just have to install Windows fresh in a new virtual machine? I don't know if there's an actual "import" feature, but I suppose you could create a fresh drive image and Ghost your old Windows drive onto it. -- Paul _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
