I run VBox in Ubuntu 9.04. It runs WinXP Pro in order to use Quicken. The laptop has 3 gig of memory. The initial setup (a couple of Ubuntu vers. back) required some fiddling around to get USB up and running. I think that is not the norm with the newer versions. The 320 gig USB hard drive is a little slow getting up to speed once Win is running. Other than those few niggles VBox has run hassle free since I installed it, including the latest VBox maintenance upgrade. I am far from any type of expert. Others on this list will be able to offer much more guidance/advice. Just wanted to relay my experience.
