I support Linux, Mac, Windows, and Solaris -- they all exist as both 
servers and desktop workstations. They mostly work and play well 
together. I'm not happy with the state of shared-calendaring software, 
but otherwise clients can be found on all those platforms for 
standards-compliant services. RDP/X11/VNC can be used to export 
desktops across the network when a user on one platform needs a 
proprietary application on a different platform -- or local VMs can be 
used if licensing isn't an issue.
