Check availability in your area for Verizon FiOS, which is Fiber Optic
Service.
Faster than cable (depending on the plan you choose) and waaaay faster than
DSL.

Yes there are options for DSL without landline phone as well, check Verizon
and other DSL providers.

I am a current Verizon DSL customer, about to switch to FiOS with the move
(apartment to apartment, new place has had FiOS for a while, current place
only recently got the hook up a couple months ago). We are not going to
have a landline phone, only cell. Current setup is landline + DSL.
