Check availability in your area for Verizon FiOS, which is Fiber Optic Service. Faster than cable (depending on the plan you choose) and waaaay faster than DSL. http://www22.verizon.com/Residential/aboutFiOS/Overview.htm?CMP=DMC-CVS_ZZ_ZZ_E_TV_N_X001
Yes there are options for DSL without landline phone as well, check Verizon and other DSL providers. I am a current Verizon DSL customer, about to switch to FiOS with the move (apartment to apartment, new place has had FiOS for a while, current place only recently got the hook up a couple months ago). We are not going to have a landline phone, only cell. Current setup is landline + DSL. ---------- Matt M.
