Just for clarity and ease of making comparisons. That 2MB/s download speed that you're getting, based on on 1 Mb/s = 125,000 B/s, means the actual service you're getting from Comcast is 16 Mb/s. I've heard they're offering 22 Mb/s and 50 Mb/s service also. As for DSL service, it's either going to be through Qwest or Verizon, depending on whether you live East or West of the Willamette no matter which ISP you buy the service through. According to this page, http://www.qwest.com/residential/internet/features.html, Qwest offers speeds up to 20 Mb/s and internet w/o phone service. Qwest also was recently bought by Century-Tel, so their service offerings and prices are subject to change... _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
