I haven't moved the device to the phone yet, but I have suddenly had success on the laptop. Fedora 14 had its usual periodic updates, and this time it required a reboot. I put the microSD card in its adapter and into the slot in the front of the Thinkpad, and then rebooted. I had done this before without success, but this time suddenly I am able to read to the device. I am copying a lot of mp3s to the card. When I finish (tomorrow sometime) I will see what happens when I put it in the phone.
