I recommend the KDE4 version of Linux Mint. I've been using KDE Linux Mint for about 4 years now, & it's very easy to use, just keeps working. Adobe Flash, & all of the codecs you need are ready to go without needing to install them or tinker at all. Also, Mint does offer some LTS releases.
There's a reason Mint has beat out Ubuntu & is at the very top of Distrowatch's page hit rankings. http://distrowatch.com/stats.php?section=popularity KDE Mint 9 is LTS: http://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=1495 Cheers, Elcaset On Thu, Nov 17, 2011 at 12:43 PM, Eric Wilhelm <[email protected]> wrote: > # from chris (fool) mccraw > # on Wednesday 16 November 2011 08:29: > > >ok everyone bust out your longest-running-linux story--this might get > >hilarious =) > > My workstation is running etch and has been up for over a year since the > last time it was shutdown for a hardware update (and I think it might > have been a year since the shutdown before that.)
