Why, I don't know. You can tell by what release of Kubuntu it's based on. KDE Mint 9 is based on Kubuntu 10.04, so they're both LTS. The KDE Mint that comes out a few months after Kubuntu 12.04 will also be LTS, as it's based on Kubuntu 12.04. It would be nice if Mint were to start advertising that fact from now on.
