A reasonable suggestion.
In fact I _agreed_ with you - please notice tense.
Both Ubuntu and Wubi were tried and found lacking.
Wubi's down-check may be due to a possible hardware failure.
Ubuntu fails due to ignoring that only internet connection 
may be dialup.
