I suggest waiting a day or so and trying again. If that does not resolve the issue, then go into Software Sources and check what server you are set to. I believe the default is the server for the US, but it may be "Main" or some other server. Whatever it is, set it to use a different server. And while you're at it, there is an option to find out which server is the fastest. Try it out and you may find that your current server is not the fastest.
