   Now I'm thoroughly puzzled. I removed the mozilla-firefox-3.6.3 package
(the only one that runs on Slackware-13.1) and reinstalled it. That should
put a clean installation on the system. However, I still see:

[root@salmo /opt]# ldd /usr/lib/firefox-3.6.3/firefox-bin
        ...
        libxul.so => not found
        libmozjs.so => not found
        libxpcom.so => not found

   But, these three libraries are in /usr/lib/firefox-3.6.3/:

[root@salmo /usr/lib/firefox-3.6.3]# ls
libxpcom.so*
libxul.so*
libmozjs.so*

among all the others.

[rshepard@salmo ~]$ echo $PATH
/home/rshepard/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:

and,

[rshepard@salmo ~]$ ll /usr/bin/firefox
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 30 Jan 13 16:56 /usr/bin/firefox ->
/usr/lib/firefox-3.6.3/firefox*
