Further investigation suggests that the GTK printing dialog doesn't always
show cups printers when connecting over TCP / IPP, but appears to work fine
using a unix socket.  I'm guessing it's an auth/permission thing but I
haven't dug into it much further.

Based on your configuration from a previous email thread, do the following
on your desktop/server:

in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf, ensure the following line exists and is
uncommented.  You can keep your other Listen lines:
Listen /var/run/cups/cups.sock

in /etc/cups/client.conf, change the ServerName to:
ServerName /var/run/cups/cups.sock

Restart cups.
