>Get a second SD card and put it into the machine right when you take >the other one out? The machine looks for a special file that it puts on the card, and which is updated every day that data is written to the card. If the file is not there or is out of date the machine won't write more data to the card until it formats the card, which wipes out all data and puts a fresh special file on the card. And it waits 24 hours after formatting the card, so you always lose a day's data when you change cards. Also, the standard cards which come with the machine are 2 GB, but it takes the machine nearly ten minutes to format it. Did I mention that this machine is really stupid? It's also pig slow. If and when I buy the Toshiba, when I put it into the machine it will insist on formatting it. This is concern #1; if formatting the card wipes out the wifi ability, then it will be impossible to use the Toshiba card and I can stop now. However, googling turned up a couple comments that this doesn't happen with the latest versions of the card. Bear in mind that the consumer is not supposed to be viewing the data. Only a physician or specially anointed respiratory therapist is deemed to be intelligent enough to understand it. Therefore, the only reason there is a card is so I can take it to such a person and kneel before them while they use proprietary software from the manufacturer to view the data and make adjustments to the therapy by modifying the card. _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
