Maybe you could build some kind of a microcontroller device (like an arduino, or raspberry pi or beaglebone black) to interrogate the machine and get the data you desire some other way than the sdcard. Other than that, I have no idea about your Flashair thingie. Get one and try it out? If it doesn't work, donate it to Personal Telco. I think that's a fantastic plan with no downsides, afaict. Oh, well, it might work.
