No, "semiotics" has not been part of my normal vocabulary. I
discovered it when searching for "the RIGHT word".[1][2]

The question is "When is a computer not a computer?"
We need an analog of the Turing Test. <GRIN>
In an era shortly past cell phones requiring shoulder straps
would my desired device be recognized the general populace as a
telephone or some prop from "Star Trek"?

This does remind me of a situation when mother was about my
current age. She stated categorically that she would NEVER have
anything to do with computers. Took much glee informing her as to
just how many computers were in her new car. Don't recall if she
threw her sewing at me ;/

What goes around, comes around.
