I'll throw in my opinions on laptops. Sure you can get whatever the usual corporations put out - cheap will either be old or junk. 1. Look into previous Macbooks (Intel). These will run Linux just fine and are of decent build quality. The Intel CPU variants are dropping in price (new and refurbed/used) since they will be dropping off of MacOS support soon. 2. https://frame.work/marketplace/laptops Framework laptops are modular, repairable. You buy the modules etc you need and upgrade if your computing needs change. You even buy the laptop as a DIY edition kit to assembly at home! -Ed
