Evince showed that the original document is actually a 6.0" by 9.0" 
document, envelope size, not the 8.5" by 11.0" letter size.

Enlarging the document by 17/12 is the best that I can do, the margins 
still have too much white space, but the top and bottom margins are fine 
and will suffer if I enlarge further, by going off the print area.
