I have to assume you're trying to 'mount' the phone as a drive or access a
daemon on the phone for communication (like you would ssh into another
machine). Android has a system that says 'Linux machine X s trying to
access me, is that ok?'. If your phone isn't prompting you, then the
computer isn't granted access. 1st question 'does it work on another phone
or USB thumb drive?'. This will tell you if the is on the phone or on the
computer.
