I use number of solutions for this. The most universal and frequently used is Total Comander with totalCmd-sftp and totalCmd-Lan plugins. This allows me to reliably transfer files to/from linux hosts using ssh and to/from windows and Mac using smb.
Obviously you need sshd running and firewall ssh port open on linux side for this to work. Same allies to smb, if that is what you need. Other than that I also use KDE-connect - that is OK, though I find it finicky at times. ... And nextcloud for file synchronization - that needs Nextcloud server which is its own work.
