Heh. Having interviewed many CS grads (from reputable schools!) that seem to have gone
4 years without any programming experience either (couldn't explain recursion, big-O
notation, or debug a 20-line C function), I don't think it makes a difference.

Me: "So what was your role in machine problem X?"
CS grad: "I did mostly documentation."
Me: "In which projects did you play a major role?"
CS grad: "I did the screen design on machine problem Y. Using VB6."
Me: "Why didn't you do more programming in your assignments?"
CS grad: "My groupmate Bob is a better programmer, so I just do the documentation."
Me: "I see. Please tell Bob to come in for an interview. Thanks for your time."

Anyone else have interviews like this, or am I just lucky?

Given a choice, I'd hire an math or engineering course grad over a Computer
Pseudo-science grad anyday.
