MIX is not the easiest language to teach, I'd think. It would be really nice
if someone were to <gasp> rewrite Knuth's examples in.. perhaps C, even? =)
And not all of those algorithms are going to be particularly relevant - with
27? algorithms for sorting and many of them dealing with tape sort/merges...
err... Hmmm. But it _is_ a very good reference book - I looked for
alternative sorting/searching algorithms in it when I wanted to optimize
that last CS project we had..
Besides, it's hard to get a copy of Knuth. I picked up the three volumes at
last month's book fair, but there was only one copy. Sedgewick's probably
better for teaching undergraduates about algorithms - available in more
languages and a bit clearer, too. =)
