Yes you are right. However.. Knuth basically doesn't have any competition.
The guy knows what he's doing and he takes the trouble to do it right. I
mean, just look at TeX..

Yes, Sedgewick is another of my favorites. I also read an interview with
William Kahan in Dr Dobbs.. but I haven't gotten the nerve to read any of
the books that he recommended.. :) but then I'm no CS person..
