Funny, I used to run 8.0.5.2 on my old Cyrix MII-300 with 80MB of
RAM. That included the overhead of X (since the browser also ran on the
same machine) and Apache.

And no, it wasn't PAINFULLY slow. Just limited the # of my httpd children
to 3 or 4 (each will eventually grow to 20MB or so thanks to the bloatware
OCI8 libraries)

Well, alumni.net is running 200K page impressions per day, and each page
spawns at least 10-20 queries.. and at 512MB RAM the load is quite
manageable..
