I'm using xinerama for months now. and it's working beautifully on xfree
4.01 . Very stable as compared to win98's .
In my case, I'm running an old p2 350 pc with 2 s3virge 2Mb cards. Kinda
slow when compared to high end cards but it does the job right. Runs
1024x768 at 16bit which is very fine for me 'coz I can't afford monitors
larger than 17".
Had a problem at first for multi-head/Xinerama aware desktop managers
though, but almost all now have them built in.

could be, but I'm not sure upto how many ... had problems with one having
5 pci slots. turned out that the 5th slot had it's irq shared, and it is
knda unreliable but the most I had was 3.

Yup you could. The frame of the monitor is kinda annoying though :(

yup it's possible. just to make sure it would work you should :
1. have the save video card type and brand (preferrably pci or the new agp
dual-head card from matrox)
2. same resolution for all displays
