that's the downside. In my case, it takes a significant chunk of my cpu
time every time it re-draws the screen, so I can't do full screen mpeg
playback anymore, I can't even open it up to 640x480 without noticeable
degradation ...
another thing to look out for is memory. since you've got a larger
desktop, you have a tendency to open more apps.
but the benefits far outweigh the disadvantages. I also have to try out
xfree86 4.02 .
