Please pardon me if this line of questioning has been asked already
recently and been answered. I've been unable to read my mail for quite
some time (overload, hahaha!). This explains my silence. Hehehe. ;>
Would anyone know if anyone is locally selling the 3Ware Escalade 3W-6400
IDE (UltraATA/66) RAID controller? I've been doing research and it looks
like the 3Ware is the most "Linux friendly", having kernel support from
2.2.15 and up, plus (supposedly) tools packaged for RH 6.0, 6.2, and SuSE.
Competing with 3Ware are Promise and Adaptec. I just e-mailed Adaptec and
they're working with a bunch of Linux distributions to get drivers out,
but they told me I'd have to ask these guys (RedHat, TurboLinux, some
others) about Linux support. Didn't see the AAA-UDMA in LhD. E-mailed
Promise before and looks like their Linux works but is ... nothing great
(customer support wise).
While we're at it, has anybody used the AAA-UDMA with Linux? How about the
Promise? And would anybody know anyone locally selling Promise cards?
