if your honor pls, you are not looking for a bigger picture because you are *only*
focusing one of the flavors of unix which is linux. there are package managers in other
unixes but still the bottom line is and the *most basic* and efficient way of
distributing and installing software is the source code which is you really know what
is really happening going on.
