eth0 in promiscuous mode means:

a program run by your server told your ethernet card to listen to all
traffic going on in the wire

this could be intentional, or as a result of a security compromise.  I
would be very worried if it were the latter.  An ethernet driver in
promiscous mode means that all passwords being passed along the wire is
fair game for any packet capture program, like sniffit.
