Hi listers,
I have implemented linux software RAID before but
havent tried hardware solutions yet. We are
considering hardware solutions for a production
PostgreSQL server. Can anyone recommend good RAID
controllers based their experience? It must be capable
of Raid levels 0,1,5, 0+1. Also, please describe how a
controller card is setup (connectivity with disks).
The server has 3 spare SCSI disks; suppose we make it
into a 3-disk raid-5 array, how will they be connected
to the raid controller card? Im poor at hardware. I
truly appreciate any tips.
