I have 3 Linux boxes (1 server and 2 workstations) connected to a hub. They are the
Mandrake 7.2 distro. The following are the networking properties:

Server IP: 172.16.1.1
Server Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Hostname: Server.Linux
Domain: Linux

Workstation IP: 172.16.1.2
Workstation Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Hostname: Workstation1.Linux
Domain: Linux

Workstation IP: 172.16.1.3
Workstation Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Hostname: Workstation2.Linux
Domain: Linux

The server was installed on the costum mode. I just selected almost all of the
features (I didn't inlude the databases and some games). The same with the
workstations, they were also costum installed. All of them have neither DNS settings
nor Gateway settings.

The problem is I cannot PING the PCs from any other PCs. I am not sure if the domain
is not correct. I am more apt on RH6.2, as far as I know, as long as you have the same
subnet, you can ping the other workstations belonging on that subnet. I've done
networking for linux inside an NT domain. Pero nagtataka ako dito sa Mandrake, di
gumagana kahit they all belong on the same subnet. I can PING their local eth0 address
and the loopback. And during bootup, the eth0 boots up normally.

Could someone point out where I commited a mistake?

Another thing, I cannot open the LinuxConf applet (how do you call it in linux
parlance?) from the Mandrake's "Control Panel" (forgot the name)? This happened on the
server. So, I used LinuxConf in the terminal window. But on the 2 workstations, the
applet worked from KDE just fine.

Thanks in advance,
Leo
