I'm using Shockwave Flash 4.0 r12 which I used together with my netscape 4.77
install. It seems to work fine on the mozilla-0.9.1 build 2001060810.

Actually, I had netscape installed prior to mozilla and mozilla automatically
detected the netscape pluggin. I am using Redhat 7.1 and the packages
provided in the distro (the distro actually comes with netscape 4.76).
Everything came together with no hitch.

Checking the directory mozilla/plugins/ indicated that the libflashplayer.so
was symbolically linked to the netscape/plugins/libflashplayer.so.

So if you've got the libflashplayer.so already (as what your e-mail seems to
indicate) and you do not have netscape installed, you may want to try simply
copying (or symbolically linking) the libflashplayer.so file to the
mozilla/plugins/ directory in your system.

Hope this helps...
