Mr Engels Antonio,

Please do not attribute to me statements that I have never made,
like those you mention above. During the entire PLUG-Bluepoint
controversy, I have stayed out of the picture, since i do not
want to add more flame to the heat. Other people may have stated
things about AdmuLinux being the first Linux distribution made in the
Philippines, but not I. The official AdmuLinux pronouncements are
those that you find in our website (which by the way is Apache over
Linux), and if you care to check, the URL is, of course:

http://www.admulinux.org/

The only claims that I have formally made (in email posts to PLUG) are
(1) that I may have been the first to use Linux in a network in the
Philippines, teaching my students C programming. I made this claim
since Linux 0.99pl13 (SLS distribution), which is the kernel that
we used since it was the latest bleeding edge kernel at that time,
could not even handle the load of 20 users without running
out of file handles. We were using Linux even before it bacame
stable because we couldn't afford Novell, and because GCC happens
to be the best freeware C compiler, even then. Also, one student
could not even do a compile without asking everyone else to stop
whatever they were doing, but we could live with that, since we
heard that DLSU students had to do the same thing with their
MicroVAX. (Pasensiya na Kelsey).
(2) I also made the claim that I may be the first registered Linux
user in the Philippines, according to the Linux counter, and that
claim can be verified. If you check, I believe that I have the lowest
registration number.

If you want to blow hot air, please do not blow it in my direction.
If you want to impress PLUG members, join our mailing list and share
your knowledge with fellow Filipinos and with the world. We are
very easy to impress, specially by Linux users who selflessly
contribute their time and expertise to help others. Linux people
like Orly Andico, the cousins Sevilla, Ian Sison, Eric Pareja, and
countless others (pasensiya na ang ibang hindi nabanggit, dahil
ang matanda ay madali nang makalimot).
