Hello all,

I don't mean to fan more flames regarding Bluepoint, but one of the recent
topics on PinoyPC (http://forums.pinoypc.net/) is Linux training. In fact,
in coordination with the rest of the guys there, I'm planning to have an
installfest + training some weekend in August possibly at a gaming shop
that's owned by one of the PinoyPC members.

One of the reasons we've decided that an installfest + training is
desirable is because we have no idea what companies offer good training
locally. I know iPhil used to offer it at around 5,000 for 20 hours, but
that was a couple years ago. One of the attendees told me he wasn't
impressed with the trainer. Nothing personal, interdotnet people!!

I heard that APC also offers training, but I don't know how good and how
much.

To the topic of Bluepoint: I actually *recommended* Bluepoint to the guy
asking on the forums because Engels told me they subsidize each student to
the tune of 9,000 pesoses. So it sounded so noble.

Guess what: a 90-hour course at Bluepoint costs THIRTY-ONE THOUSAND
PESOSES according to their web site, sez the PinoyPC member who wanted
some training.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Is Linux training really that expensive nowadays?
I'm all for a sense of community, that's why if the PinoyPC installfest +
training goes through, I'll volunteer my services for food. =)

I just can't get over the 31,000 figure.
