The now defunct Yggdrasil distro was one of the first that could be run 
entirely from the CD. It came out around 1994. xenos and I went through 
a whole slew of now extinct distros since then... SLS, TAMU, the one 
from Manchester Uni (what was that called?), Bogus (which was really 
bogus!), etc.
You haven't really lived until you've tried installing Slackware from 
diskettes! (chuckles fiendishly)
