#_ How about if we conduct a sort of symposium/seminar on the "Advantages of
#_ Linux and the Open Source Softwares" or "What can Linux do or something"
#_ and invite the top-level management of different government agencies
#_ (especially the DOST - should support this plan) first? I assume that most
#_ of the top-level management of the different government agencies doesn't
#_ know or heard "Linux" itself. Correct me if I'm wrong, most top-officials
#_ in the IT department of the different agencies are not BSCS or related
#_ studies degree holder. As long as they got a Masteral degree just like
here
#_ in our office, they are automatically qualified.
#_
#_ Anyway, if ever we could make that symposium/seminar, siguro naman at least
#_ 30% of all the attendies will probably try Linux in their agencies. By
#_ then, if they will like it, maybe they could recommend PLUG to develop a
#_ PLUG's Linux Distro partly/fully supported by the government.

#_ What do you think guys? = )

#_ ...grabe ang imaginations ko ano? = )
One of the people we should invite is Presidential IT Adviser - Virgilio
Pena.
This is the man in charge of turning our government into an e-government.
There was an article/interview with him in the Philippine Star: NetWorks
section dated Friday, August 24, 2001
I think there is a bill in congress to establish the Department of
Information and Communication Technology; and if that pushes through this man
might be the one to head it.
