Up to 128MB Sound Fonts are supported. This is unpaged kernel memory
though, so if you download those huge pro MIDI wavesets from Hammersound
and load them into your SBLive, you will have a HUGE kernel (there are a
bunch of 128MB SF2's on Hammersound, they are probably better than many
pro synthesizers).

Notice that the SBLive uses the E-Mu Systems 10K1 synthesizer which is the
same chip used in many pro synths.

Of course the SBLive Audigy is even better..

No win. Use LAME 3.90 VBR mode (averages out to around 170kbps) for
encoding your MP3's.

I doubt you have a Sennheiser Orpheus ($15000 headphones driven by vacuum
tube linear amp, with TOSLINK optical digital input).

Even with an Orpheus, 400 audiophiles were unable to distinguish 256kbps
CBR MP3 from the original CD's. And LAME 3.90 VBR with the GPsycho (GNU
psychoacoustic model) meets or surpasses 256kbps CBR.
