I think there's a setting in your XF86Config that will allow you to use one of your alt keys to do this and use the other one as plain meta. Off the hat can't remember what it is though. Heck, I do most of my document processing in DocBook and XHTML so all I need to do to enter these characters in a more portable fashion is use the elements ñ, Ñ, or their Unicode element equivalents: ñ and Ñ... Don't always assume your character set is ISO-8859-1... will result in disaster if you try to enter the same characters into an HTML or XML document unless you explicitly specify the encoding. -- Rafael R.
