I happened to have had a project regarding an organizer, java, swing, linux, and windows -> go figure... but essentially, the app i coded worked and looked well both in windoze and linux (but there are font related issues in linux i admit...) :-). basically, java (1.3.0_02) worked great (for me) on linux, and beacuse i had to, my app (when ported/put in a windoze environment) ran just fine (but the fonts were better i must admit.). > I just tried Robocode on J2SDK 1.4beta3/Win2K, it's quite jerky... > Hotspot sux? (as for my slef) i always liked how java worked based on the performances of the stable releases. i however, have not tried any beta releases (or maybe have, but did so unknowingly) of java sdks or jdks. -- --------- Dean Michael Berris UPLB Computer Science Society --------- _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
