[:)] > > Thanks for the help! there are lots of ways to solve your problem and these are from least expensive to most expensive: 1. if you are under the switch environment and your switch is capable of snmp, monitor per port bandwidth utilization thru mrtg. 2. you have a switch but is not capable of snmp but have a port monitoring feature, assigned all ports to a designated monitoring port and run a packet sniffer (eg. tcpdump) or any open-source tools that can monitor bandwidth utilization per outgoing packets thru source ip address... if you are not under the switch environment and you are using a hub, just connect your monitoring tool to any one of your hub's ports. 3. at the router side and your router is capable of ip accounting, then use it. 4. same with number two, instead using a free monitoring software, use a commercial traffic analyzer software or hardware. fooler. _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
