send a fax via the modem to the Pizza Hut offices which then read and
processed the received order.

By the way, the Pizza Hut work is probably one of the few pieces of CGI
work that *didn't* require the use of a database.  What would have been
a better way of doing this would be to create a database containing the
details of all incoming orders, and making yet another (privately
accessible) CGI script allowing each individual branch to read and
accept online orders that come in.  Even better would be to set up a
login system that contains customer profile information.  But they
wanted a simple fax-based system, the scripts for which took Migs only a
few hours to hack together... :)

If you want a really nice ordering system I suggest you attempt to study
SQL and relational databases.  They're indispensible for storing
managing customer information and all that, and form the foundation for
elecronic commerce.
