I deliberately did not mention the 3ware products as well as higher-end 
Promise, These guys get around the "one active device" problem by hanging 
each drive off a dedicated controller.

So yes, for these types of devices, the "one active device" problem 
doesn't hold.

Still, you haven't replied to my point that raw burst bandwidth is 
meaningless, and that you should know better.  ;)
