from /etc/samba/smb.conf
# Where to store roaming profiles for WinNT and Win2k
# %L substitutes for this servers netbios name, %U is username
# You must uncomment the [Profiles] share below
logon path = \\%L\Profiles\%U
logon home = \\%L\%U
and then i have:
# Un-comment the following to provide a specific roving profile share
# the default is to use the user's home directory
[Profiles]
path = /var/lib/samba/profiles
browseable = no
i prefer for the files to go in /var/lib/samba/Profiles since i
might not want samba users to have a home directory on the unix
box. do you think i should give them home directories instead?
well, i'll try that anyway...
what files do you see in the .profiles? just so i have an idea
what i should be looking for there :).
thanks,
tiger
