A follow-up question: In this setup, are the 2 disks supposed to be on
different "channels" (primary/secondary)? What is recommended? Also,
if 1 disk is on the primary, and the other on the secondary, am I still
allowed to put in a CDROM drive somewhere there?

I would do this, but only after testing with existing equipment and
proving it insufficient. I'd like 3ware, but if there's nothing else,
I'd have to make do with other brands and just use software RAID.

I also do not worry about disk speed. Just as long as my RAID system
works at least as fast as it would if there isn't any RAID (just 1
disk), I'd be content. In other words, I want to use RAID more for
fault tolerance than for performance improvements.

And thanks again!
