Seeing the discussions (or more aptly, the arguments) on this thread, I can't help but be awed at the amount of information I'm getting from everyone, and equally on both disagreeing sides. And it's great! I have nothing to share about the ropic of course, but I really did absorb a lot of things in one sitting.
Not that I'd really want a debate to brew from my original query. Actually, I've reread the whole IDE + SCSI RAID thread from the archives (May 2002), and posted only because the thread mentioned didn't have some sort of finality to it (or at least didn't have enough information for my need). Anyway, disagreements or not, this thread has already helped a lot and I could say that I will be more confident in my decision regarding this topic than I would be if this debate didn't happen. So, thanks all! (and, um, keep it up? :D) -- Joon Guillen ================================ So computers are tools of the Devil? thought Newt. He had no problem believing it.
