Hi! Good day to all! We will be replacing our aging NT 4.0 irons with new ones and they will be arriving soon.
The school's PC's and NT server's have been plagued with numerous virii and spamdue to poor/misconfiguration of the MTA (M$ Exchange) and NT4(I am sick of service packs and security rollups). BTW I only inherited those machines to administer. The task that will be at hand by priority are: 1. Transfer all email from Exchange server to Postfix (sans spam and virii) 2. Set up a nice and organized FTP server. 3. Organize our DNS entries (Francis V, help! Sir Wilson and Sheila doesn't seem to mind) 3. Redesign our horrible website. 4. Provide a browser frontend for user's email. 4. etc... (more to come) My cry for help is... How and what is the most effective way of convincing my /bosing/ to switch to linux/*BSD as our main MX/Web/FTP server. -- kechie wan kenobi Center for Information and Communications Technology Systems Administration Group Northwestern University, Laoag, PH, 2900 _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
